The
steel profiles have a wall thickness of only 1.8 mm so are
easy to work with and at the same time, offer maximum protection
against wilful destruction. The on-top door closer is integrated
into the frame and located on the rotation axis of the round
leaf-profile. By using this special construction (figure 1),
the closing mechanism does not require any bars or arms, which
could be damaged by vandals, leading to the whole door being
vulnerable to attacks.

Security
doors are very often installed as outwards opening, so that
exterior door hinges are needed. In this position, the hinges
are exposed and open to attack. With RP-hermetic 50 security
doors, this danger is eliminated by the use of a round leaf
profile, making hinges redundant. Another advantage of the
round shape is finger protection (figure 2).

The
advantages of RP-hermetic 50 plug-in glazing bead system:
Unlike
most profile systems equipped with easy to lever clip-on glazing
beads, the RP system offers maximum protection using a self-securing
support of beads and the easy additional fitting of only a
few security pins (figure 3). Because of these security pins,
it wasn't possible to lever out the glazing beads using a
crow bar on test elements.

The
RP-hermetic 50 system has been tested for smoke-protection
up to an element size of 2800 x 3000 mm. It is best suited
for high usage door areas as well as external doors, where
the advantages of steel come into their own.
