Company History
The result of a number of mergers and acquisitions, ASD metal services was incorporated in 1986, although elements of the business can be traced back to over 100 years ago.

In 1977, 'D&F' was established as a wholesale depot in Leeds, and this is still the site of our Head Office today. 1982 saw the company name change to 'Associated Steel Distributors', and ASD was born. Numerous purchases, both before and after this point, allowed ASD to develop into an integral component of the UK steel market.

Becoming part of the world's largest independent multi-metal distributor, Klöckner & Co. in 1996 enabled ASD to cement its position as the UK's premier independent multi-metal distributor. Most recently, in 2004, the organisation rebranded its three divisions (ASD plc, Klöckner metal services, and Armstrong Steel Ltd) as "ASD metal services", thus providing the customer with one name for all their metal needs.

Today, the company encompasses 39 branches throughout the UK, and is able to provide the diverse product range and broad array of processing facilities suitable to any requirement.
